Under pressure

Freddy Mercury, David Bowie and Queen partying resulted in this rock and roll classic aimed at all of us folks in the streets. As expected, the emphasis is embracing love as we work through the challenges of living as a society.

Because love’s such an old-fashioned wordm
And love dares you to care for
The people on the (People on streets) edge of the night,
And love (People on streets) dares you to change our way of
Caring about ourselves.

  1. It’s a classic, for sure, and Freddie Mercury and Queen have been favorites of mine for years. I never heard what happened with the lawsuit that was threatened when Vanilla Ice sampled the opening bass line from the song for his “Ice, Ice, Baby,” but apparently it was settled out of court, with appropriate recompense.

This might be my favorite performance, but any will do!

      1. The camera work in the video you referenced was stellar. I loved the close shots of the drummer, too. I’ve been in the front row with a camera at a number of concerts in my town, nothing, though, with the importance of Queen. Often, after I got the exposures I was looking for, it was such fun to just stand and soak in the stage scene from that vantage point. I probably would be incapable of getting a photo in the event I had the fortune to be close to the stage of a big-name group. Rock and roll, indeed, any musical event, done with pizzazz is capable of raising goosebumps.
